Teacher to Leader: Dilemmas in Teacher Leadership

Abstract

"Acting on a commitment to support the development of teacher leaders, the Center for Strengthening the Teaching Profession funded a case study retreat in 2005 where teachers could examine the purpose and structure of case studies, draw on their own experiences to create a case study, and work with a professional researcher to reflect on their conclusions and produce a written product. These cases can be used to prompt personal reflection, discussion between two practitioners in a staff lounge, or examination of leadership issues by teachers and administrators coming together for professional development."
